Today I am up in the mountains at my Mom’s house in Colorado. I drove the baby killin WRX up and my god let me tell you that was the most fun road I have driven in a long time. This is 20 miles of a hill climb and it winds and twists all the way to her doorstep. Man I almost want to go and do it again but I think I will wait so I don’t smoke a deer or a biker.
Well onto more pertanent information. A couple of days ago I put a a Cosworth intake cam into my buddies Evo. He already had a set of HKS 264 cams and so we just upgraded the intake cam to the M2. For those that are not familiar the M2 is a 272 degree duration cam with I believe 11.0mm of lift. I could be wrong but it some where around there.
For some reason the cam really changed some engine dynamics as the car just would not take timing like it would with the 264. BUT it really picked up some power on the top end. Somewhere to the tune of I would guess as this is just off the butt dyno around 15hp. Not too bad for just one cam. So after an hour or so of solid tuning I got it all dialed in and it is now rockin. The car is a 2003 so it has the 9.8 hotside so Gus is really starting to see the effects of the restriction. Time for a TS 30R!!!!!
