New Setup in the Works

Hello All,

For the past week or so I have been in negotiations with a company that goes by the name of full race.  The discussion is concerning a new turbo for the VE WRX.  Now I want to put this out there so that everyone remembers and hears me loud.  I HATE I HATE the VF34 with a front mount at this elevation.  I would never suggest this to someone unless I wanted to date there girlfriend.

The bigger part of this whole upgrade has to do with just on word I just mentioned.  Altitude.  As some of you know I am now in Colorado where the elevation is around 5500ft and up where I am typing this I am at 9,000ft.  No joke shit here.  Air density is non exsistent and being an engineering student I want to see the overall benefits ( if any) of running a giant turbo at this altitude.  I think I will also couple it with E-85 and we will really see what it will do.

As some may or may not know a 4 cylinder engine really only produces and exhaust pulse to get the turbine moving every 180 degrees of crank rotation.  So mix that on a big turbo and this elevation this should be a recipe for disaster.  But with the twin scroll setup I should get a considerable increase in spool time, and mix that with the E-85 and those engine pulses become potent as the ethanol contains a lot more exhaust energy when ignited, so a lot more power sooner.

So please stay tuned.  The kit should be ready to go by the end of this month and as always I will post all data that I find.
